The gloom in your room is not entertaining you upset you? Well, among adding new windows, there are plenty of intelligent  ideas you can apply to solve quickly and easy this problem. So here are some ideas how to bring light into your room.

Choose a sunny shade for your walls

If your room has a lack of natural daylight, pick the colour of sunshine for the walls and give instantly life to your room. Yellow can be too overpowering on all four walls however, so just add it to a focal wall or within accessories in an all-white room.

Replace heavy curtains

Heavy curtains consume light right out of a room, so replace them completely. One solution to this can be venetian blinds or shutters, but window film is probably the most effective. Easy to apply yourself, and it's lot cheaper than curtains.

By adding a rooflight light, which permeates the room from the ceiling is far brighter than that which comes through windows in a wall. Added to that, roof windows take up no wall space - which is important in a room such as a kitchen where ample wall space is important.

Opt for Lustre

Want to use cosy black wallpapers? You can - just by mixing them together with light flooring and a bed in rich reflective gold which shines on.

For elegant style pick up the jewels

Sparkle is a must for dark rooms; it adds a touch of glamour, is very grown-up and elegant, but is also reflective, adding subtle pools of light. Go for a sofa with cushions of shimmering sequins, look for bejewelled picture frames or crystal lamps.

Use glazed furniture

Pick glass and other transparent materials, or delicate rather than chunky finishes for furniture in dark rooms. Here, the occasional table in a dark room is practical but helps keep the room light.

Find Reflective Flooring

After the walls, the floor is the biggest surface area in your room, so keeping the flooring light is important. Carpet is ultra-desirable in a bedroom, so go for a luxurious wool in a pale finish that won't consume the light from the space. In a kitchen or living space, glossy tiles or a pale wood, such as ash, will do the trick, too.

Choose mirrored furniture

Mirrors making spaces, they seem bigger and reflect light, so ensuring you do not block daylight but increase it with glass pieces - clear or coloured - it make sense to your room.
